The River

Warm weather on the Green hill can only mean one thing - it's time to go to the River! And that's just what the Whittington crew of 3 did this weekend. We had so much fun. Ian ate some sand and played in the water. Here are a few pictures of our little man on the "beach."

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! The Easter bunny did come to Durant. And he left Ian too much candy! We had a great Easter weekend. We got to visit with lots of family, had beautiful weather, and hunted a couple dozen eggs! This time of year makes you reflect on your blessings - and we have been blessed so richly. Ian makes everything have so much more meaning. He really had fun hunting eggs - and everything else in the yard he could get his hands on. Needless to say, we had to come home and give him a bath when we got finished playing outside. Here are a few pictures from this weekend.

Ian got his picture taken with the Easter bunny for the first time. Believe it or not, but, he didn't cry! He loved the bunny!

Here he is getting into his basket of goodies. He was trying to eat them before I had time to open them!

You think he liked the Peeps?!?

Ian looked so cute in his Easter outfit. I ordered it from a friend who sells children's clothes. Thanks, Chanda.

Here is our little family on Easter morning.

My two favorite fellows! Aren't they handsome?

And here is the proud Mommy with a happy little man.

Ian was Mr. Photogenic this Sunday morning!

The dog was coming up close to him so he was getting quite excited.

And the hunt is on.....

He finally figured out that he was supposed to put the eggs in the basket when he picked them up.

He was very interested in everything on the ground! He even taste tested some leaves.

Tossing another egg in the basket.

I thought this was cute. He found his reflection in the gazing ball in Nanny's front yard.

He wanted to touch every animal in Bass Pro.

This was fun. You can tell from his expression that he has done something wrong. If you will look at his hand you will see that he has pulled the gate down from the wall! Finally, a way to escape!

This is his big boy chair. He really does more climbing on it than sitting in it, but he likes to drink his "juice" here.

And we're off!

Ian is walking - when he wants to. Sometimes he will just walk and walk around the room, and other times he hits those knees as fast as he can and takes off crawling. Whatever keeps him happy is fine with me! He is really starting to try to talk, too. He says "hello" and "bye bye" and "light" pretty clearly (and of course "momma" and "daddy"). He is really growing up fast. We had tubes put in his ears the first week of March because of numerous ear infections. He handled that really well. I think he is happier now that those ears feel better! Here are a few recent pictures of our little man.

Here he is looking out the front door. He was waiting for Franny and Granddaddy to come visit.

I took this one after he finished his dinner tonight. He was smiling so big!

Ian knows where his nose is, too. You can ask him to show you his nose, and this is what you get!

This was taken the day he got the tubes put in his ears. He was ready to play again that afternoon. He loves this ball popper that Nanny and Pappaw gave him for Christmas.

Ian loves to play with his Daddy's hats. He was running around with this one on his head this weekend.

Saturday Ian and I played together all day. Look at this sweet face!

What an adorable little fellow!

Lots to Blog about!

Well, much has happened during the month of February. We have had snowy days and spring-like days. Ian has stopped drinking from a bottle and only uses a sippy cup now. And he has taken his first steps solo. He's not completely walking yet, but it won't be long now. If he realizes he has taken a few steps, he stops, sits down, and won't even stand up again for a while. I think he just doesn't want to walk yet. Here are a few pictures from the past few weeks.

Here are my two sweet men riding the four-wheeler. This was one of those pretty days this month. Ian loves to be outside with his Daddy! He cried when he had to come back inside.

I thought this was hilarious. One Friday afternoon, Ian was fussy, and I was trying to unload groceries. So, I gave him a cup of milk to entertain him. I realized he was being strangely quiet, so I stuck my head in the living room to check on him. I found him in his toy box, kicked back drinking his milk and watching Spongebob! How cute was that!

Our little man likes to have his picture taken these days. He was posing for us one night, so I got some cute shots of him.

This is one of our many snowfalls this winter. I can't believe we've had this much snow in one winter in the heart of Mississippi. This is the view of Sammy's house from our front door. The snow was so pretty.

This is just a favorite of mine. Thought I would share it. You think I am a proud Momma?

New play place!

Santa Claus brought Ian this toy box for Christmas. But I think he intended for it to hold Ian's toys - not Ian! I found him playing quietly in his toy box one morning while I was doing laundry. He just loves to climb in and throw out all of the toys. Here is a picture of the little fellow having a ball!

We have been giving Ian samples of whatever we eat at mealtime. Ian loves his Daddy's pancakes! He especially likes them with butter and syrup. Here he is with a mouth full.

Ian's First Birthday!

My baby turned 1 on December 30. I just can't believe that it has been a whole year! What a great year - Frank and I could not have asked for a more wonderful little addition to our family. He really is a blessing. Here are a few pictures of our little man on his birthday.
Ha ha Daddy, I got an airplane and you didn't!

Hands off, Uncle Sammy! This truck is mine!

I'm a big boy now! Ian loved his Mickey Mouse fire truck.

Here is his birthday cake.

Here is Ian wearing his birthday cake.

And sharing it with Mammaw.

No, I don't need any help.

And here is Ian's birthday cake after he was finished.

This is Ian's new "cute" face. When you tell him he is so cute, he gives this fake smile. What a mess!

My little fellow is already driving - his cozy coupe that is. Look at that form. He already has the hand positions down pat.

Beep, beep! Watch out Brittany!

He loves to drive his new car. Thanks, Franny and Grandaddy!

It's Christmas!

Santa Claus came to Durant.....and emptied his sleigh! Ian must have been a really good boy this year. Here are a few pictures of our Christmas time with our families.

Ian just loves the pony Santa left him. He likes to bounce for a while, then climb on and off, on and off, on and off....you get the picture!

Here he is helping other people open their gifts at Franny and Grandaddy's.

And really having fun opening his own gifts. He loved playing with the paper!

Ian also helped give out the gifts at Nanny and Pappaw's. He just couldn't wait to see what was in those bags!

He was so excited to ride in his little red wagon that he got from Mammaw and Pappaw. He didn't want to get out.

This is a picture from his birthday party at Franny and Grandaddy's. The cake looked great on him! (And it tasted great too!)

Here is a picture of Ian playing in the snow we got a few weeks ago. He just really didn't know what to think about it.

Just another cute picture of my little man!

You have heard of a milk mustache, but what about an ice cream beard! Looks like he could start a fad with this one.....

And one last cute picture. We tried some yogurt melts this week, and Ian loves them - to eat and wear!
