Ian's First Vacation!

Ian had his first vacation last week. We went to Orange Beach with Franny, Granddaddy, and Uncle Harlan. We all had such a great time. Ian is a great traveler! I think his favorite thing was the swimming pool (besides all of the extra attention he got!). He really enjoyed playing in the pool. He wasn't quite sure what to think about the waves in the gulf, but he thought the sand tasted alright. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Happy 7-Month Birthday!

What a sweet picture! I took this a few nights ago when Ian fell asleep in my lap. I can't begin to tell you what I feel when I look at this. What a perfectly made little hand! Every night when I put this sweet boy to bed I wonder what I did to get such a huge blessing. I look back and think about what a wonderful pregnancy I had. I don't think I really understood the enormity of my role at that time. But God chose me to be this little boy's mother. Wow! Each day I pray that I will be a better person, a more deserving person of this blessing, someone Ian will be proud to call "Momma," someone Frank can be proud to call his wife. I realize now what it means to be rich because I am - rich with love. These past seven months have been the most tired, crazy, wonderful, and fulfilling of my life. So, Happy 7-Month Birthday, my sweet baby boy. You have made our home the warmest, most loving place in this world. And Happy early 7-year Anniversary, Frank. You two have made me the happiest person in the world!

Ian's new tricks

Ian likes to play sitting up now! He is still a little wobbly, so I don't let him sit without some pillows around him. But he is getting stronger every day. He is growing up so fast!

He also enjoys showing me his tongue (when he takes his hands out of his mouth long enough!). He is just so cute; he looks like a little lizard - he looks at me and sticks his tongue in and out. I guess he is exercising - preparing to talk soon!

New friend!

Ian has a new friend -- Brittany (Franny and Granddaddy's dog). Ian loves Brittany. He just lights up when she walks into the room. He smiles and squeals every time he sees her. But I don't think Brittany feels the same way. As you can see, she has to be bribed to even come close to our little excited tike. Good luck, Brittany, when Ian becomes a little more mobile!

I always heard that if you didn't have a little food left on your face after a meal, you didn't really enjoy it. You can bet that Ian enjoys every bite!

Too much fun!

Well, I guess sometimes you can have too much of a good thing! Frank and I just laughed and laughed when we saw that Ian had fallen to sleep jumping -- then we decided to take pictures! What was even funnier was that when I picked him up to get him out of the jumper, he started trying to jump again. He just never gets enough!

Ian's new favorite thing to do is jump...and jump...and jump!
